March 16th - Harlequin in blackwood - G13 in all shapes and sizes!!

O.K. Its Friday night, Its comic relief and i have a joke for you. A man walks into a bar, Ouch!!
I said i had a joke for you i never said it was going to be a good one!! Alright one more go. There's a five pound note on the floor. Of a thrash guitarist, a drummer who keeps good time, and a drummer who keeps bad time, who picks it up?
The drummer who keeps bad time. The other drummer doesn't exist, and the thrash guitarist doesn't care about notes anyway.

O.K Jokes aside, Girl 13 played a gig in the harlequin for comic relief along with other bands. But you may ask yourself, 'whats wrong with this picture?' Well for a start there is only three members of the G13 line-up present. With Jules tied-up with work and Andy not being able to get a babysitter. That left only Mike, Vinnie and Spencer to play the gig, but play it they did! apart from some...ummm? 'Problems' during radioactive. Mike has even been quoted as saying :-
"at one point like my msn name says , my ass hurt, it was a bum gig, that was radioactive but everything was uphill from there. cut was awesome one song i look at Vinnie and just went 'go on then'"
And so he did with Vinnie stepping-up to take on the lead vocals. So a great gig considering that G13 was only 3/5 the size of usual.

Also on another note, there is the announcement of "G-Wars"!! This is where G13 get a bit fan-participation going. The point of G-Wars is to send in your pictures of your self brandishing a Girl13 logo on any part of your body. But this is not just so we can stare at your fleshy-parts!
No,No,No the best picture as decided by the G13 Guys will get a free T-shirt, so you can show-off your Girl13 Pride everywhere you go!! So now with that said, Go now and get thinking and get snapping those pics!!

Till next time, its been me, Heavy T

The Beech Tree - March 10th - "Stuned into silence by Girl13"

Blog time already? Where does it all go? Well i guess its all expected in the hustle and bustle that is Girl13.

First we start with a bit of news, with G13 being the workhorses that they are. They have been rubbing shoulders with top level people at the muni arts center today. With a little help from Miss PR, Mia, a printer stolen from my room and the hi-jacking of my computer to burn of C.D's. Even the unexpected casualty of mike falling asleep at the computer with his hands still on the keyboard!! The g13 machine were ready to hit the seminar with all guns blazing. The Day was good but the seminar did have its down points. As Vinnie is quoted as saying
"well there were the fat and ugly ones from FFAF, answering pointless question and giving even more pointless replies."
But in the rush afterward to get to the really important people, once again Spencer came out on top! With everyone else making the expected routes down the aisles, he thought to himself it would be quicker to just climb over all the seats to get where he needed to be.

But anyway on to the gig. With overlaps in work schedules, both myself and Jules couldn't make it to the gig. Nevertheless the show must go on! With a Blink 182 cover band starting of the night how could anything go wrong? Well with a crowd so unresponsive as this one maybe a morgue would have been more lively. It took a whole 4 songs before a heckler managed to kick things of! By calling Andy a c**t, but this was just the start of the crowd turn around. This spurred Andy on to tell all the venue that they were all "C**ts" and that they could suck his "D**k" with mike adding "i thought you'd never ask' it got the crowd warmed up nicely, and the rest of the show went with out a hitch.

O.k a big shout out goes to the barmaid who's birthday it was and asked and to sing a bit of radioactive for her. She enjoyed it and i hope you all do to.
With that shocker of a bombshell i say Adios Granados!!

Callaghan's - March 8th - Girl13 fun for all the family!

Well here we are again, another gig, another day in the life of girl 13. It was a wet and windy night and Callaghan's was about to be rocked! With four bands on the line -up there was only one everyone wants to hear about.....You should know by now.

It started out with a furious flyer mission around Cardiff....well it was more like a hand written invitation to come to the gig, personally written by Vinnie and Jules. (A future collectors item)
Free badges were given out and T-Shirts were on sale, All was set for a good
night..... Untill Vinnie decided to wipe all the settings of his pedal board! But being the utmost professional unit that is G13. Vinnie was driven back in the merc, to get a replacement pedal.

When the band stepped up to the mike there was a feeling in the air that a truly tight set was about to be unleashed on the waiting and unsuspecting crowd. assaulting there ears with pure musical genius (and yes i have done all my English homework). The set was a classically short 10 songs long with such favourites as NSPCC, Breath Again, Punk Rock Girl and Dance.
With a mu
ch longer set than in TJ's Andy had more than ample time to do his strip routine. Getting down to his bare toplessness that we all know and love (especially the ladies!) Though the rest of the band haven't taken on this characteristic, who knows what the future holds?

With that thought fresh in mind, it's time to leave you wanting more!
Till next time....bye for now

March 4th - TJ's Newport - TJ's in the park auditions

Well hello there. This here is heavy T, long time roadie and all-new blog master supremo. So expect some good insider info on the G13 guys as viewed through my weired little mind!!

Anyway how about we start with a little bit of news? As the newest member of girl 13, Jules has taken the title of 'hissy-fit king' after having a couple of them during practises. My sources have greatly informed me that Jules has been quoted asking 'if the bar is open' after some of his more stressed moments. In other news, on the 5th of this month it was Mikes birthday. To celebrate we all went to the buffalo bar for a 'couple' of drinks! After Mike's second shot of wrey and nephew he had this to say to me, 'i luf you man' but with this said we carried on unperturbed with the drinking. So when you next see mike remember to give him a great big happy birthday.

O.k so that was the news on with the good stuff, the gig/audition at TJ's. It was early on the Sunday, a time of day that some of the g13 crew hadn't seen in a long time.
So the long trek to the city of Newport had started, transport was limited. Ceri had been enrolled to help take people up but with only a ford ka it wasn't looking good, so up stepped myself and Jules to take the train. But we all arrived in time to be told we were last in the line-up. But it was all good with some time to setup, Girl 13 had time to go through some pre-gig rituals. Not the bad kind though, like sacrificing the other bands to evil Gods or such.
No just triple checking the guitars were in tune, spencer making sure he had enough coke to drink and Jules with a little bit of Muay Tai style warm ups.

Now the time had come for Girl13 to take the stage. The set being only 15 minuets long they had to pack as much G13 goodness in a set as they could possibly get! with that it was started with the feel
good anthem 'NSPCC', followed the the hauntingly beautiful 'Breath again'. Next we had a new song 'cut', Having missed the last few gigs myself this was a new one on me! PunkRock Girl as sung by Jules sounded awesome and to round of this tasty nugget of Girl 13 yummyness was 'Darker side of me', which to my surprise ISN'T about a girl who only suntans her back!!

Anyway if you missed this gig don't forget that Girl 13 will be Callaghans on the 8th of March. So don't miss them again! You been told by the Heavy of the T!
This has been me, and my first G13 Blog hope you tune in for more soon.
Later!
