Hectic!

Welcome to the week that was…

Although a conclusion as drawn as to who they would choose as a singer they have reassessed once again and a decision will be made shortly.
A lot more singers are coming out of the woodwork now and Richie (Pike) was met last night – a multi-talented guy who is very interested in the Girl13 machine.
Due to the choice now being quite extensive (Barney, Andy, Jack, Alyssa as well as numerous newbies), Vinnie, Dan & Spencer have questions they want answering.

1 – How flexible are you? Can you offer enough time to get this band to great heights?
2 – What can you add to the band to make it even better?
3 – Are you a deadbeat? As much as we wish money did sprout from Spencers ‘fro, it doesn’t, so a fiver/tenner here and there for rehearsal rooms, etc. is essential.

The guys had a group therapy session the other day in the pub where each were told their concerns by the other. It was very cathartic and everyone was able to get all those niggling things off their minds and through their masses of highly-styled hair. ;)

Punk Rock Girl has now been uploaded to Parlophone and masses of photographs were taken this week for the band sites, publicity and their entry to Battle of the Bands. A new sexy pic will be posted on myspace on a weekly basis for everyones enjoyment (mostly provided by Dan).

Girl13 jammed at Street Level Studios in Riverside on Wednesday and had a great time. There was a lot more focus and a good sound. They jammed with Barney from 6-7pm and Andy from 8-9pm. Manager Mike provided refreshments consisting of kit kats and Pepsi ‘cino, which is probably banned in 32 countries for it’s addictive properties. Unfortunately Spencer has unavoidably been banned from consuming any caffeine during jams from now on and any 2 litre bottles of Dr. Pepper brought along will be confiscated.
A video recording from Wednesdays session will be uploaded soon for your enjoyment.

NOTICE: Spencer is now the face of St. Davids centre so expect to see his ginger ‘fro everywhere soon! Of course we can only hope that this can generate some good publicity for G13 too.

Vinnie has been tuning his voice with Singstar so that he can learn how to hit those Mariah Carey highs, as well as practicing like a trooper.
He is currently organizing driving lessons and looking for a cheap run-around, (a Girl13-mobile if you like). A two to three week target has been set for Vin to get a new FX unit.

The new badge designs have been finalized so on Tuesday the band will be heading into town to raise money for the cause by busking on Queens St. Drop by and show your support with gold coins!!

Our next live jam has been arranged for Friday at Cathays and although this has yet to be confirmed you might be able to catch the boys at the Buffalo bar on October 1st.

Watch this space!

Girl 13 are alive and kicking!!

Everything is coming together and we're all go. First and foremost we've had interest from a record company. This has caused a positivity bomb to go off.
Mike is now band manager and doing an awesome job of telling everyone what to do in a dominatrix kind of way - everyone's enjoying the authority ;)
Band line-up now looks like this:

Lead ~ Vinnie
Bass ~ Dan
Drums ~ Spencer
Vocals ~ ? (It could be you)
As it stands we've auditioned 3 stand out singers who are all equally qualified for the job. They are Jack, Andy and Barney. Decision time is dawning and it may well come down to bribery :D Live jams have been arranged so watch this space for the reveal.
Deadlines are in place and we are in the process of planning an Oxjam event. As soon as the wheels are in motion we want sponsoring to make as much money for Oxfam as possible. If you can't make it to the gig be sure to catch us on MTV.
Long live Girl 13!
