Short notice? we piss on short notice...
first of all, this is Andy, Lead singer, and now blog-master supreme for Girl 13,
It's been another hectic time for all, we've been planning the opening of the new G13 rehearsal rooms, we have the venue, all we need now is to refurbish, and to get some bands in for much needed funds for the band.
Then was the new years eve gig at tom's bar in ponty. thank to all who turned up to support us, there was a fantastic atmosphere and another great set from ourselves which included another 3 new songs, It's becoming increasingly easy easy to knock out great new songs, that stand up to and sometimes surpass some of the more well known songs in our set.
Vinnie has spent most of the last month organising for Girl 13 to Feature on a BBC1 documentary about the band, How he has managed this is any one's guess but it's happening so in the next few weeks we will be recording some live shows and arranging some interviews, and you lovely people will be the first to know about it...
Then there was last night (4th Jan) It was around 9:30pm I was just finishing my second bottle of wine when I get a phone call from Vince, He said "It's a bit of a weird one but I've got us a gig in the maltsters arms in ponty" Ace! I said, when is it. Then came the ridiculous bit ... Er tonight, after persuading the rest of the band and getting a replacement driver for pissed-up Dan ( cheers mike, your a band saver)then came the mad dash to make ourselves look pretty, get down to the afore mentioned rehearsal rooms to get our gear and get to ponty in super quick time( without ever braking the speed limit of course) we set up our stuff played a barn-storming 1hr set packed up and set off home, richer than when we left £££
And with one extra song the "whoa hoao's" in punk rock girl shall forever be sang as what oh, thanks to Dan's accent and a wonderfully silly man in the audience.
